  • Dark violet and muddy red on the rim. Muddy looking, although no noticeable sediment.
Deep fruit aromas, spices, wood chips, and a slight odour/whiff of nail polish remover. But it does not affect the taste. The odour is not shy.
Big muscular wine. Smooth but powerful tannins. Full bodied wine. Dark fruits, spices, licorice, coffee, and a touch of vanilla on the finish. A long finish that turns slightly sweetish at the end.
Nice wine. Plump , but enough acidity to help keep everything in balance.
The oak and alcohol put it slightly over the edge for my tastes (but you get no heat ... its just that it imparts a sweet sensation on my palate). Most will love the wine.

  • Dark red. Violet red purple.
    Great nose.
Sweet strawberry (?), blackberries and dark plums. Great deep nose.
Smooth tannins that end on a tight coffee finish with all those dark and red fruits.
    Very persistent.
Having it with a nice steak, yet it seems the wine could take more.
    Powerful yet elegant.
    Like new world done right.
