This had a little sour-juicy note, not entirely a bad thing, but showing some age; decent acidty as a result, but not quite all there. forest floor, leaves, more earth than fruit driven. Very interesting as the '03 was fat an overdone and overoaked, and the '04 was lean, sour, and showing signs of age (or storage problems). The youngest, the '11 was an absolute killer, the goldilocks of the 3. Tuscan blind Dirty Dozen at La Paella. ranked: tied for 9th out of 10 wines. Guessed '01 Tuscan Cab

Ink black color with dark plum skin highlights, lustrous Nose jumps from crushed blackberries to eucalyptus to dark minerals, then comes ripe plum and black licorice, dark minerality then white pepper, layered and elusive. Much like a La Turque or La Chappelle in a great year. Rich, full wine full of energy but completely in balance. Layers of juicy black fruit, black licorice and white pepper on the finish. Again, the palate is consistent with the nose. Meal in a glass. Layer upon layer and full on front and mid-palate and on the finish. All of that and I would consider the wine to be in its drinking window but not at its peak - years left to evolve. The score may be low.

Very thick and ripe wine with a velvety texture and deep flavors of black cherry fruit and licorice. There is some brett and a bit of an off-putting finish and the alcohol level is high which sways an otherwise deep, silky and powerful Merlot in the wrong direction for me.

Quite an exotic line up with Redigaffi 2004, Gerbet-Berthaut Cazetiers 2018 and Chateau Latour 1990 as more friends joined during the day.
The Redigaffi was a bit of a bold viking in this company. Displaying its typical broad, earthy, campfire, overtly ripe leathery fruit. Somehow reminding of the smell of boots of the guy that rode an Arabian thoroughbred. But you've gotta love the masculine depth of fruit with tones of roasted herbs and wild boar meat. This wine is a wine for men at a campfire sharing stories about the deer they shot for dinner, bruised by the scrub they crossed but satisfied and enjoying the company. it goes without saying I do love this wine.

Easily the greatest Redigaffi's I have tasted (versus a really nice 2008 and 2007) and for sure some of the most compelling Tuscans I have enjoyed so far. Paring great fruit with a superbly well balanced minerailty. Depth, sexy and addictive. I love this wine and decided to by an additional case after drinking this second bottle.

(Redigaffi) Redigaffi Dear Friends, The deals are in full swing as VinExpo cranks along.... This perfect parcel of 2004 Redigaffi has just been confirmed - directly from the winery cellar. As one of Europe’s most desirable and collectable wines, the 2004 version most closely resembles the vaunted 1995 rendition of this wine and it is a special occasion effort in anyone’s book: 2004 Tua Rita Redigaffi Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy8180
