Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 90.5 points

  • Light gold with a firm mousse which eventually turned into a fine stream of soft bubbles. Classy. Quite a subtle Cramant nose here. A touch of Jasmine tea maybe and a little light cream with a hint of white mushroom. Variable on the palate. At times this seemed screechingly simple and tartly acidic with little going on, but at others it showed some mature mushroom and apple fruit with even a hint of orange zest. Lean and narrow with a dry note, there is austerity here. The remainder consumed after twenty four hours had settled into a much better and fuller balance. Jasmine tea, toasty fruit and a longer finish with plenty of maturity in the form of creamy notes. Tricky wine this one, showing a bit Jeckyll and Hyde. Maybe it just needs more time, maybe it just isn't quite sufficiently balanced. The points are for now and would represent some sort of average. The real range could be anywhere from 85 to 91.
