  Colore che inizia a virare verso l’aranciato. Fino dal tappo il naso ammalia, distintamente floreale e dolce di frutti rossi, con note di sottobosco, di muschio. Complicato intreccio di spezie, con note di legno di sandalo e poi liquirizia, tostato e tabacco. Potente ed equilibrato con tannini straordinariamente fini, e una freschezza che lo bilancia e garantisce una bevibilitá notevole. Finale lungo e carezzevole.
  Ancora una dimostrazione che la qualità paga a prescindere dallo stile (e talvolta dalle forzature enologiche), e che il tempo, soprattutto quello passato ad attendere il momento giusto in cantina, è galantuomo.

  This wine is coming into its own. Floral nose. Still some tanin at pop and pour. Resolved quickly. Glad I waited.

  Sono considerevolmente sopra la media delle valutazioni di CT su questo vino. Ma non posso farci niente: a me piace, anche se é figlio di uno stile che non va più di moda. E comunque, dopo vent'anni o quasi di cantina, posso confermare che tutte le strade, se ben fatte, portano a Roma. Ovvero quando la materia è di grande qualità, qualsiasi stile di vinificazione, alla lunga finisce per esaltarla.
  Naso inizialmente molto piú delicato e floreale, di rosa e viola, di quanto ricordassi. poi sottobosco, frutta nera e rossa, mix di spezie intenso ma senza eccessi, cuoio, liquirizia e tabacco In bocca perfettamente equilibrato i tra alcol, finezza tannica e acidità ancora piuttosto sostenuta. Finale lungo lungo su ritorni floreali e di cuoio.

  This wine stole the show at a comprehensive pre-poured tasting of Spinetta wines featuring the current releases of 2012 and 2013, that allowed me to re-taste through the entire lineup 5 times over a 2 hour period. None of the young wines got even close to the mature taste of the 2001, which was not just rich and delicious, but smooth, savory, caressing, perfectly integrated, and seamless. The 2012 version of this wine showed the power, concentration, and balance of fruit, acid, and tannin, to become as great as the 2001 when aged for 16 years. But for drinking now, the youngster is nowhere near as satisfying and complete as the 2001 is drinking.
