Right after opening, very muted nose and palette. After ~2 hours blackberries, other dark fruits, violets, and cedar came through on the nose. Palette became juicy berries, though dried and finished quickly.
Similar experience to others here. Definitely old world, after being open a couple of hours a very floral nose, wonderful but palate and finish didn't hold up to the nose. I don't know how the bottle was stored as it was a gift from a friend. I wouldn't mind a chance to try another but my guess is that it's on the downslope or at the very least somewhere on the apex
Tasted blind: Surprisingly young in color, one would never expect a 30 year old wine. Nose reminds me of glue and cough medicine. The whole wine is quite one-dimensional, short and out of balance. So far I did not have good experiences with the Dominus 1983...
