Beautifully finessed nose and palate of red fruit, rhubarb, earth, iron and very fine grained tannin with a touch of spice. Impeccably smooth texture and balance. No fireworks, just grace.

Welcoming 2023 with Great Wine (State Street Manor - Chicago IL): Popped-and-poured, then mostly enjoyed immediately, but I had a chance for a quick re-tasted three hours later. Powerful and bright cross-section of red fruits throughout, this was firm and restrained to start, with the concentration foreshadowing its potential. Much more charm came through at the end of the evening with more fruit richness in greater harmony with the structure. Maybe not the most enjoyable wine of the night, but I wine I would most want in my cellar for the future. Thank you, Asian Spice!

Quite a lot of secondary aromatics, jungle fruit, red berries, tea, alcohol, petro, sweet caramel, Vosne spice. Great showing, quite different from current Rouget style and perhaps closer to Jayer in its light linearity. Profound spicy finish that lasts so long with tannin. 96

Casual Sunday Dinner?: Maderized unfortunately. This would have been one of the best Rouget Echezeaux out there, per the last bottle in Europe.

Muted nose, sous bois and truffles on the palate with decent tannins and acidity. Will improve with more time. 92-94
