  • Dinner with the IT kakis (Szechuan Douhua, Kitchener Road): On this night, I must say that I preferred the Leeuwin to this. Maybe it was an off-bottle, but this Sauzet seemed to be fast-tracked in terms of development. Scents of honeysuckle, chrysanthemums, nuts, as well as a tinge of that sherry-like flavour. On the palate, this was quite rounded & pleasant with yellow-fruited notes but seemed to lack the kind of complexity that I'd expect from a Grand-cru. Hope to try another soon...

  • - Yellow gold color - Impromptu gathering at Jade Palace. Some lessons tonight - yellow gold appearance, nose good with hints of honey or butterscotch, mouthful tangy feeling with so-so finish. Its also called a BBM instead of mouthful pronunciation. Don't think this will last another long journey from Cali to Hawaii to sing. Still a steal at 120.

Medium deep golden. The bouquet is highly seductive with her feminine and chrysanthemum character. Lifted and airy, the honey, honeysuckle notes intermixed impeccably with roasted hazelnut and sweet yellow fruits. Pure, lively, transparent and feminine. The class and finesse is clearly there with the oak well integrated which formed the creamy, rounded mouthfeel with layer of complexity that caresses the palate. The length is amazing, but at the very end there is this bitter lemon peel kicking in which to me has taken way some purity and balance. But that just me. This is still a very nice BBM nevertheless.
