This has aged pretty well. Very deep purple. Nose has some tobacco elements, predominantly plum and black fruit. Strong on the savory side, but no flab, good acid balance, medium finish. Ripe and good.

Medium color, raspberry nose, pie cherry on the palate with a touch of fennel. I'm not sure why I haven't drunk this already, but it is a happy discovery.

This wine has a lot of things to appreciate. Ripe, cherry-infused fruit, a deep spicy core with hints of minerality and celery salt. Perhaps a tad hot on the finish, it nonetheless delivers a very satisfyingly ripe impression without teetering into the realm of overstatement. I'm thinking it leans more toward California than Burgundy, with the big forward fruit and relatively soft finish, and with a little less bite than I like in Oregon pinot. Should also mention a slight candied note that isn't my favorite.

Memory is that we liked this the first time around. Not so much this time. A bit light and soapy. Wouldn't buy this again. Just noticed my earlier note. Not as enjoyable here. Maybe this is an early drinker. I didn't like many of the early release 2005's so this must have been way better then.

Nice value wine. Fruity, with notes of tangerine and grapefruit, and spicey. Very enjoyable at first. However, after a bit the citrus/grapefruit taste became a bit overwheleming. I originally scored this a 92 but am now downgrading it to an 88.
