Very dark color. Big bouquet. Red berries, ripe dark fruit flavors. Ripe fruit on the finish. Surprised at what this had left. Maybe a little oxidized or prune-y. Drank well on its on, not a real good match for the spicy Jambalaya that I was serving. Past its prime, but still drinkable. It probably would have scored higher 6 years ago.
Excellent bottle. Lots of complexity on the nose. Cherry, green peppers, mushrooms and underbrush. Round and luscious in the mouth. Bruised black cherries, inky creaminess, and enough acid to keep things in balance. Just a great showing. Wish I had more.
