Better than the last one and needed a 4/5 hour decant. Mature with tannins that are fully integrated. Rich, a bit spicy, and enough of the brambly, rustic components that make it interesting.

This wine is just hitting its peak. Blackberries, ripe cherries, licorice, mint, cloves. Rich, lush, and mouthfilling, with some very gentle tannins still remaining. A very long and lovely aftertaste. After a while in the glass, there's a sudden intense burst of concentrated blackberry and chocolate midway in the aftertaste--wonderful fun! Should be in good shape for at least ten more years, and I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts longer, but, if this bottle is typical, there's no reason at all to wait--I can't imagine it getting better than it is right now: the best of both worlds--the vibrant immediate appeal of very young wine, with the grace of age.

(Tormaresca Castel del Monte Bocca Di Lupo) Opaque black red violet color; reticent, oak, berry, black fruit, tar nose; deep tart black fruit, tar palate; medium-plus finish (much more approachable and appealing than when I last tasted it a year and a half ago)
(Tormaresca Castel del Monte Bocca Di Lupo) Group's #5 (my #8) – 64 pts; 2, 3, 1, 1 - dark red violet color; tight, subtle, black fruit and herb nose, that opens eventually to a savory, pepper and tobacco nose; tight, tart black fruit and herb palate, a little narrow; medium finish

Consistent with the last note, still drinking well and does not feel like it’s in any hurry of declining.

The oak here has integrated. Big wine with plenty of earth and graphite. Fruit is more blue/black than red with some sous bois as well. I liked this.
