Annual CDP tasting (Edina Country Club): 3 hour decant. Although this drinks on the young side, it is not hot, and does not have the brutish power that many CDP's possess. Great balance and complexity. It performed well tonight and may turn into something magical. Tasted alongside the 1995, it was our consensus that this will be the better wine someday. But not today.
Annual Holiday CDP Tasting (Edina, MN): Dark red color. Decanted for 3 hours; drank 1 glass over 2 hours. Dark berry nose, spice, bright fruit, juicy, earth, the floral element is lurking but there. The palate is dense, full bodied, cassis, raspberry, some blue fruits, a bit sappy, spice, hints of savory, long finish. This is going to be a real honey in ten years. My #4 WOTN.
