A beautiful CDP, and has entered a nice drinking phase. The primary fruit flavors have receded to reveal an elegant and nicely structured wine. Likely to remain in a good place for years. Sadly this was my last bottle.
Changed dramatically over the course of the evening, mostly improving until it landed somewhere beautifully textured, almost fuzzy, very sure of itself. Went from primarily sweet in its licorice bouquet and taste, to smokey barbecue fruit, veined with shimmering tension. Decanted a couple of hours.
Fresh crushed raspberries, sour cherry, thyme and iodine. Slightly tart. Good balance yet the tannin's were much more integrated than I would have expected. Short finish. Undoubtedly a well made wine without any technical faults, however this bottle failed to excite me - it lacked depth and interest.
