Still an excellent dark ruby with purple highlights. Some legs too. Great aroma of smoked meat, wood smoke, and earth. Sleek entry into the mouth, fairly rich, full and deep. At it's peak but showing few signs of age and no sign of decline. 4-12-16-7: 89/100.

this was a surprise. very good. a very herbal mineraliness vs the fruity style. nose of oregano, pepper, bacon fat, and blueberries. a little tight but very enjoyable. loads of blueberry with some chalky minerality, some fine gained tannins and acid. a long finish that gets into some darker fruit then unfortunately turns a touch bitter at the very end.

I love this stuff. Very predictabe basic Syrah from Ojai. Not the overstuffed, over the top monster, but a very enjoyable everyday California syrah that I think is worth the $20 price tag I paid. Will buy this again and again assuming they keep the level of quality.
