    Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of smoke, black berries, black cherries and plums. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and plums. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink with some air time.

  • Decanted 2 hrs. This was my third and final bottle of a three pack, and confirms without a doubt, that Cadence wines need at least 5 years of sideways time to really shine. Clearly this wine is in a Prime Time drinking window, fantastic multifaceted nose of roses and violets, Indian spices and chocolate. My last TN from two years ago noted a stalky taste on the palate, probably (from the cab franc) – this bottle was all dark plums and spice, like the nose very floral, and great back bone of Red Mountain tannins that are perfectly integrated. Rich, but surprisingly light on its feet. Should hold for another 5 years, perhaps more, but absolutely no reason not to enjoy this gem today.

  • Decanted for 1.5 hours. Nose of perfume, baking spice, and alcohol. Ripe red fruits, baking spice, vanilla on the palate. Good tannins and moderately complex.

  • poised red fruit to start, the tannin is lively, and then the midpalate ends with a Super Tart snap. The finish is very long, with greenery and berry skins that essentially never disappear. The cab franc is singing here, allowing a glimpse of red fruit on occasion, but making its mark with a smack of underbrush. I like. But I suspect it would not be 'fruity' enough for palates accustomed to sweeter, more oak-laden reds.

    (Cadence Bel Canto Red Mountain) Lots of black licorice and bright cherry on the nose. A perfect amount of grip and texture on the taste with chocolate threads winding through the wine. An impressively long finish caps it off. 50% Cab Franc, 40% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot. 14.4% alcohol. 250 cases produced.
