Supps at KC's (KC's place): This was an exceedingly pleasant surprise with confit shoulder of lamb and pommes anna - lots of fresh blackcurrant fruit with a lack of caramel backed by a touch of sous bois, leather and earth - the latter three attributes grew with time...on the palate it was juicy, fleshy, rocky mineral tannins...leathery and earthy tertiary notes grew with time on the palate as well. Pretty good all things considered (price point/age)

From Coravin. Brambles and leafy quality; very copse of trees in Autumn with blackberry bushes, a little countryside. A little graphite and pencil shavings with time. Softly engaging and quite sweetly fruited brambles and red berries backed by capsicum and a leathery, meaty quality. Tannins are near resolved. Nice.

Popped and poured...Very much the mature Bordeaux...all dark fruits, leather, earth, autumn leaves, a little tobacco and cigar box and a touch of rusticity on the nose translates to the palate with juicy acidity (which is probably assisted by a smidge of volatility) and still moderately grippy tannins. Better than previous bottlings...

Coravin fun - new arrivals (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Sweet spice warm red over blackberry, a little red currant, leather, biscuit, earth, pristine cork. Juicy savoury red over blackberry, the red currant lends a touch of fleshy freshness, tannins are subdued. Hmm, not very well balanced.
