This is certainly lush and wide open for business but its polished and holds itself together well. Was coming apart a bit towards the end of the dinner while the 01 got better and better, but this is very good for 03.

I love this family and their wines so much that I am starting to think others might get the impression that I can't taste objectively but who cares.... I can say, quite definitively, that the best Nebbiolo from 2003 is Cigliuti. This family has a gift at farming and knowing their land so well it is unbelievable. What a magnificent wine from a bad vintage. Other Barb and Barolo are dead because they were harvested too late or just went for a richer, fat modern style, which can't cellar well. This is just near perfect..

Drying tannins on the finish which i didn't love, but those should subside with a few more years in bottle. Wonderful nose of dried flowers and strawberry. Spice on the palate, with a good middle weight. Hold for a couple of more years.

- Garnet color and aromas of strawberry. It's balanced and has flavours of cloves with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish.
