Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 89 points

  • Integrated and elegant. Combination of cherry and light red fruits with forest and earth notes. Still fresh with some tannins that finishes medium to long. May still be slightly evolving. Drink over the next five years.

  • Decanted 1 hour. Nose of sour cherries, forest floor, dried tobacco. Flavors of sour cherry, pepper, pine. Nice acidity; some saline, savory notes as well. Approachable with decanting, but this is quite structured, with lots of somewhat rustic, mouthfilling tannins. A quite tasty, rather fresh tasting wine with reasonable complexity that lacks a little for ripeness and concentration, no doubt due to the vintage. After 24 hours, the forest floor notes have taken a decidedly greener turn, but this holds up well over several days, and will please fans of a leaner style of Savigny.
