Fully opaque purple. Creamy oak and pepper are the first things to hit the nose. Dark berries and a some leather to the fore after a little time. Blueberry, vanilla, tar, alder chips, smoke flavors. Big body, medium tannins, medium-low acidity. Smooth, long (+30sec) finish and superb balance. A nice change from the high alcohol Aussies's (5+12+17+7) = 91

Popped/poured....not good. It does evolve favorably after an hour. Good fruit, with decent depth after some time in the glass. Pleasant, but not great. Decent QPR if picked up on sale / auction.
