  The 50 Big Bash (Harry's NYC): In truly great shape. This was much more fresh than I would have expected. Still the oxidized style of wine making which makes it a bit intriguing. Drinking very well.

  Kleur: Vol goudgeel. Aroma / bouquet: Ingehouden neus, serieus maar aangenaam oxidatief, honing. Smaak / Afdronk: Geprononceerde zuurgraad, dik-sappig en mondvullend, heel tertiair maar aangenaam. Serieus lange afdronk. Algemeen / potentieel: In eerste instantie versleet ik deze wijn voor een uiterst belegen Ermitage Blanc. Indrukwekkende, belegen Rioja die nog lang drinkbaar zal blijven. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 12 + Smaak / Afdronk: 16 + Algemeen / potentieel: 8 = 91/100
  
  Colour: Full golden yellow. Aroma / bouquet: Restrained nose, serious but pleasantly oxidative, honey. Taste / Aftertaste: Pronounced acidity, thick-juicy and mouth-filling, very tertiary but pleasant. Seriously long finish. General / potential: Initially I wear this wine for an extremely mature Ermitage Blanc. Impressive, matured Rioja that will remain drinkable for a long time to come. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / Bouquet: 12 + Taste / Aftertaste: 16 + General / Potential: 8 = 91/100

  Rich dry honey, marigold, and white apricot notes. Beeswax and distinct saline notes on the nose. Remaining acidity leaves a balanced impression on the finish. Great wines with enough age. 93-94

  J&VB with RIBBS (Brunswick House): Served blind this is obviously mature Rioja, and feels like Tondo. Mid 70s maybe. Some waxy lanolin but also a lightness and a freshness. pristine. Persistent and nuanced. Maybe just a fraction light on the finish, but that's super picky. Really lovely wine. ****

  De color ambarino oscuro, reflejos azafranados y dorados, limpio, brillante, con sensación de grosor. Problemas al abrir la botella. Se ha producido una ligera merma en las últimas semanas. El corcho sale con problemas y se rompe por falta de elasticidad.
  
  Las primeras sensaciones son de un exceso de duelas, humedad del calado, ceniza, mondadura de patata, cuadra, trufa, pero sin problemas de sobreoxidación. Falsa alarma!! Lo hemos dejado unas horas abierto para que se ordene. Al servir se muestra potente expresivo. Hay una paleta interminable de fruta madura (orejones, sultana turca), naranjas secas, escarchados, a la que se suma un envoltorio de miel, panal, cirio, y un curioso acento animal a lanolina. Amplio, expresivo, con notas de barrica avainillada, cremosos muy finos, que se funden con aromas especiados y un toque ahumado y mineral. Cada vez más puro y profundo, más especiado, mineral. Muchísima personalidad y una capacidad de expresión alucinante. Una viura en esencia necesitada de respirar, que toma aire a bocanadas y nos lo devuelve en tributo de gloriosos aromas.
  
  El impacto en boca es absoluto. Grueso, amplio, redondo, de sensaciones extremas y una vivacidad que satura nuestra percepción. Hay una cantidad de fruta asombrosa, con un matiz de dulzor y de acidez cítrica, casi acidula, que nos hacen fosfatina las papilas. Maduro, tenso, serio, nervioso, aristocrático. En la misma escala de calidad que el gran reserva de 1964 pero con un perfil totalmente diferenciado. Un blanco para infartar y resucitar con cada trago. Inolvidable!!!!

  85% viura, 15% malvasía - 12% vol.
  Permanece durante 6 meses en depósitos de madera. Criado durante 8 años en viejas barricas de roble americano de 225 litros elaboradas por los toneleros de la misma bodega. El vino es sometido a 15 trasiegas manuales. Clarificado con claras de huevo frescas. Embotellado directamente de la barrica en enero de 1982. Sin filtrar. Lacrado especial para favorecer su mejor evolución en botella y preservarlo de contaminaciones. Producción limitada a 10.000 botellas. Descansa un mínimo de 44 meses en botellero antes de ser comercializado.
