Bought 2b for 12/b two years ago from Wine Library; this is #2. No decant, none needed. Medium purple; wild berry nose that follows on the palate, some foxiness (like unripe wild berries), good mouthfeel. This is unusual and reminds me of some red hybrids I tasted many years ago. It was enjoyable with a rich pasta and interesting, and I think this is a good example of its type (Bobal); but it's not for me. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable- when considering quality, age, and price.

In the glass the wine is deep crimson in color and a bit murky. On the nose medium intensity aromas of dark cherry and earth, not much more. On the palate dark cherry driven flavor with a tart cranberry note and mushroom. Mild acidity with plush, lip smacking tannins. Short finish.
Our first Bobal. Pretty wine if a bit one dimensional across the palate. Drinks like a big, inexpensive California pinot.

Medium body and a little too fruit forward for me. Has a rubber taste to it.
