Deep, dark garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges; almost opaque. Full, fragrant, attractive & complex nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & blueberries with kirsch & garrigue overtones, floral notes, dried Provençal herbs, earthy, dusty, spice notes, some sandalwood & mint, licorice, beefy, leather, minerals, a hint of pepper followed by cedar. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of complex, smooth textured, well balanced, seamless, ripe fruit flavors of sweet cherries, tart cranberries & dark plums with herbs, exotic spices, anise, pepper, mint, minerals & toasted oak. Long lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing, but it is still in its ascendency with the potential for further development from additional 5-8 years of aging.
A real beauty, just on the cusp of maturity - with tobacco and earth notes go along with blackberry and cherry notes. Utterly seemless, it still bursts with energy and life. No where near done, but drinking very well now.
45 minute decant. Excellent wine that improved in the glass. Ripe with black cherries, blackberry, prune, and hints of licorice with slight leather on the back end. Balance, texture and nose were classic CdP with a pleasant lasting finish. Just now approachable 2015 - 2029.
