Much better than the first bottle of this I had about a year ago, which was off and tasted musty and dead. This one was more alive and complex, but was a tad hot on the finish.

Second Sunday Group: 2004 California Cabs (Rich & Dana's): Deep color. Cherry, clay, spice and earth aromas. Flavors of cherries, clove and red fruit with bright underlying acidity.

Excellent wine. Very well balanced. Incredible combination of flavors. Long finish. Jeff Gaffner makes great Pinots-no doubt about it.

Well balanced, bold but not over the top. As always, elevates the grape. Let's nature do what it does best. Solid effort.
