  • Decanted and drunk over several hours.

Cherry, earth, meaty-ferrous notes, undergrowth, moss, and florals on the nose. Mid plus weighted broad and surprisingly supple on the palate with depth, structure and underlying acidity that come together into a cohesive whole. A mix of tilled earth, darker pinot fruit, meat, and florals on the palate. Excellent length, but most of all a sense of balance and harmony. The soil, savory , fruit and florals all come together beautifully. Long on the back end with fine tannins. This has lost some of its firmness and power since my last bottle 4 years ago and has settled into a beautiful drink. Drinking at peak for me and while I have no doubt it will hold for some time, I can't imagine it getting much better. Yum. 93

  • On the nose, cherry fruit, florals, and earth with some heme- bloody notes. Complicated with the contrasts coming together nicely. On the palate, there is nice sap and density with and excellent mix of fruit and savory in its mid plus weighted frame for pinot. Great balance and clarity. With time, it broadens and gains sap and a sense of greater harmony and perfume. Precise and deep, with understated, focused power in a more savory and earth driven mode. Harmonious outstanding wine drinking at peak.

  • Dark nuit colour, nose ok, lovely long wine, still in good shape but plenty of life yet

  • Probably at or near it's peak, but delicious, although somewhat simple. One person at the table described it as being like cherry cough drops, which pretty much sums it up.No need to wait, drink up.
