Needed about 30 min in the glass to open up but this continued to improve throughout dinner without the slightest hint of fading. I disagree with those suggesting this is over the hill. This is in a perfect spot and will drink well for at least another 5 plus years. Impeccable balance with just the right amount of fruit throughout. The finish went on and on. This was exactly what I was hoping for. This paired well with courses of northern Italian cuisine. Revisit 2027
Still wonderfully balanced and graceful Med + Acidity with smooth, supple tannins Fruit still delivering, red cherry, red plum Drinking beautifully...don't wait

(GIACOSA Barolo A.A.) Giacosa Dear Friends, I like to revisit Barolo vintages approximately 10 years after the harvest and I recently tasted this wine (not quite ten years old) - it is really starting to hit its stride. For those of you trying to discover the virtues of this one-of-a-kind producer, Giacosa's 1999 Barolo will give you a succinct and educational introduction to the wonders of the winery. For those of you well-versed in the splendor, this wine represents a terrific example to enjoy while you are waiting for the single vineyard or Riserva wines to mature. For the price of a new-release Barolo from any number of sources, you can have this winery-aged example from Giacosa that is a treat to consume now and over the next decade. This lot is from a never-moved library parcel directly from the cellar: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED This parcel is directly from the source with perfect provenance: 1999 Giacosa Barolo (A.A.) (BevMo does not have this - the listing is four years old) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy4610
(Bruno Giacosa Barolo) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-strawberries; rhubarb; soil & mushroom; lots of cinnamon on the back-end; TASTE-rusty nail; car shop; very solid; good fruit; good structure; rusty nail on the back-end; great depth on the finish and the tannins a very nice & firm, but a little more simple than I expected; disappears a little on the transition from the mid-palate to the finish; AG-90; JG-86/88; GV-87
