  • Great easy drinking Italian wine. Wish we had opened this with the pizza we had earlier in the night. It's very easy drinking. More earthy in nature. Tasty.

  • Classic to the Bone (Restaurant Horcher - Madrid): This last bottle was a BYO to RV Garcia de la Navarra for an endless afterlunch.
Somewhat cloudy but very expressive on the nose with fresh meat, violets, truffles, ash, moist soil and rose petals .
In the mouth does not abandon that path. It has a delicious acidity and a multifaceted way. Simply delicious.

Sencillamente deliciosa.

  • Brickish, faded garnet. Nose sound with saddle leather and fruit and whiff of loamy dirt. Bit acidic and not much fruit left but otherwise sound.

  • Medium-dark rosewood color. This was initially quite dumb on both the nose and the palate. Two hours of decanting didn't improve this much. The nose had a faint smell of berries and chalk, with the palate being a muddle of indistinct dark fruit flavors. This started to open up a bit by hour three. The wine developed a more Cabernet-leaning nose, with cigar box aromas. On the palate, this was weighted towards the front of the mouth, though there was an earthy finish punctuated by grainy tannins. This wasn't seriously flawed but was obviously past it's prime. The Terlato site recommends drinking this between 5-7 years; I'd try this again, but would drink a vintage within that window.

  • BYO to restaurant La Piperna in Madrid.
Pairing two main courses: grilled pigeon breast with fetuchini and partridge in three different ways.
Comparing with last bottle, a more compact and obscure core colour is showed.
Same good notes on the nose of earth and rotten rose petals.
Plenty strength on the palate, serious wine with acidity and tannins to run some few years more.
