Tasted blind, this wine had a light yellow center and clear rims. The nose was medium- intensity at first and slowly built up to medium intensity (still a bit tight).
In the mouth this came across as refined but you could feel the underlying richness and complexity. While a bit lean and streamlined, this had great balance and length.
This took a long time to develop so I feel it needs 5-10 years to really be in the drinking zone. It will likely continue to improve and may well pick up a point or two.

Blind Tasting 1983-2007 Chablis - Raveneau, Brocard & Dampt (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Yellow. Lightly corked on the nose. Seems like there's a lovely wine underneath, with medium+ acidity, but I can't get past the TCA and neither could most others. Still, a few people thought it was "moldy" rather than corked and it received 2 second place votes and 1 third! (my 8th, group's 8th)

This was up against a 02 meursault les Charmes from Lafon and Lafon killed it. Quite disapointing. No length at all. Maybe we can call it elegant but I just think the vintage is not good enough.

Medium straw-yellow color. A nose that kept getting better, the longer it sat in the glass. Beeswax and citrus on the nose. Flavors that one can only associate with Raveneau...coconut, spice.... Long finish. Very enjoyable and no hurry to drink the next one.
