Still bright red in color. Soft, red fruited nose. The fruit is a bit faded but still pretty (let it slow ox for 60 minutes). Red fruits and a bit of sweet tobacco. Fine tannins, sharp acidity, good balance. Finishes moderately long with dusty red fruits. Still nice but fading. Drink up.

Unfortunately getting tired. Side by side with the '94 and no contest. The '94 is still an incredibly beautiful wine that seems to have years ahead of it. The '93 has rolled over since the last visit. Drink up

Mpls Does Big Domestic Reds (Fire Lake, Mpls): Very dark red color, no bricking. I found this to be outstanding. Gave it a 30 minutes decant, improved over 30 minutes more and was going strong 3 hours later. Nose had a perfume of florals, damp earth, blueberry, cassis, graphite, subtle oak. The palate is gorgeous with a nice core of dark fruit, graphite, oak, and mineral, soft with velvety tannins, nice acid, and a very long finish, oh so elegant. My WOTN, 94+pts.

Opened on our 18th wedding anniversary at Girl & the Goat (fantastic restaurant of former Top Chef winner Steph Izard). Color was age appropriate. Minor bricking on the rims. Earthy mentholated nose. Fruit was tart blackberry and currant. Lithe and lean, with a medium-length finish. Holding up pretty well, but no real upside in further cellaring. Drink up. (Note: corkage = $25 at G&G)
