Heidi's Redux: More Heavy Hitters (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Medium dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour. There was a lot of depth here, full bodied with a spicy intensity, the fruit tends to the darker side, and it becomes prettier with a little glass time. There's good minerality, iron, etc, though it comes off a bit high toned on the finish. Not flashy, more of a workhorse tonight, which seems consistent with other notes. Both the '03 Jadot Musigny and the '00 Chevillon LSG were in an awfully tough spot having to follow the earlier wines.

Even from Chevillon, one of my favorite producers and the celebrated LSG vineyard, this might have been better stand alone but fell short at tonight's table. Vintage? I've rarely loved any 2000 red Burgs. Add this one to the list of so sos, for me. Seemed to lack some zip and felt fullish for my palate. 88-90pts Also possible, this improved and I lost track tonight but I moved on.

At last a pure bottle of this wine ! The colour is cherry red with a tawny edge and the nose is pure red cherry, strawberry and redcurrant with mineral and spice touches. the palate is medium weight wit a surprising core of ripe fruit that lingers and makes up for a slight lack of extract and length. Overall the balance is excellent and along with the purity of fruit this a great example of the best characters of 2000.

A meatier, chunkier, darker fruited Chevillon than I was expecting given the vintage. Maturing, but not old, this is ready to drink any time, but no real hurry. Good-plus, but not great.

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Nos of raspberry and even citrus, floral, higher pitched than the others in this flight, cinnamon spice but tannins too strict.
