Vinum WSET3 Celebration: [Vinum WSET Passing Celebration] Good amount of visible sediment, tawny rim, garnet core. An inspiring fragrant nose, wisps of dried red fruit and figs, accompanied by leather and fig newton. On the palette, bone dry with cranberries and sour cherry, some salinity and ocean air, fleshed out with leather, tar, dried meat. This was a very complex mature wine with some fruit still showing. Beautifully aged, however it is over the peak as it started to die after 30 minutes of being opened. Drink up!

Very lovely nose of dark fruit and some leather and spice on the nose, well balanced on the palate, at its best tonight, medium body, nice long finish.

8 Vintages of Torres (Joe's Orinda, Ca.): Tasting 8 Torres mostly Black Label. Had the same cherry nose as the 1975 but lived up to my expectations in the mouth, the finish and aftertaste seemed short and bitter due to too much tannin. My #5 Group Tied #6.

Good fruit remains, popular with crowd, but to me this is somewhat clunky and uninspiring. Maybe if you needed a relatively cheap birthyear wine. B-
