  • From an excellent looking bottle, this wine a yellow center and clear rims. The moderate- intensity nose was surprisingly crisp with lemon, limestone, and green apple notes.

In the mouth, this wine was very light, edgy, and crisp. It didn't seem anything like an Auslese. It took 3 hours of air for the wine to really start showing something and all of a sudden it really started to gain interest. While it was still quite crisp and stoney, this wine also showed sneaky richness and great length.

This came across like a top notch Spatlese given its crisp minerality. Idiosyncratic but fun.
