  showing mature orange brick edge, modest dark core, not as clean looking as I would have liked, concentrated dark fruit, woodsy aromas, nicely integrated and quite full, this was a silky smooth drink that did not really wow me, but I did know there was quality behind the rather plain face that it showed tonight. Maybe it needed more than the 3.5 hours of air I gave it, maybe I should have splash decanted?
  
  all in all, good mature wine but no QPR, the others loved it with the beef roast

  Red and black cherry on nose with very good aromas of cooked mushrooms. Red cherry and strawberry fruit behind earthy flavors, this had an incredibly long and persistent finish for the vintage, with balanced fruit, mushroom and spice going at least 30-40 seconds.
