Another stunning showing. Cool Grenache, cherry/raspberry notes, white pepper, garrigue. Nothing sticks out, everything is in balance. Even with 15% alc. With Niels and the Heegaard gang.

Stunning tonight - what a cool cat! Intense, concentrated, has real Southern Accent, but this is also very typical for the domaines normal cuvée, so different from the VV. There is Syrah here, certainly, blending the garrigue and the generous ripe Grenache. #PB

Beautiful Chateauneuf du Pape. Cherry and raspberry fruit, white pepper notes, creamy texture. Harmony and balance and in a great spot right now. Thank you.

When I first bought this wine it was tough as nails. But time passes, and if you own a bottle, you are in for a treat and should pull a cork. It does need an hour to open up fully, but has the most amazing nose of concentrated raspberry and creamy custard, overlaid with a subtle herbal note that I’ll call garrigue, although honestly it is more on the lavender and creosote side and less on the thyme and rosemary side of the actual herb blend. Lovely balanced palate, very long, showing enough acidity and tannin to carry it out. Eventually you pick up on a saline mineral dimension, which gives it a nice lifted spine. Not 100pts, but certainly merits 97.

Tasted vis-avis the 2004, this shows very well the difference of the two years. The 2005 is quite powerful, local, rich, spicy, manly, and while certainly open for business, this will go on; even some tannin left here to be integrated. On day 2 unchanged. #ChickenDinner
