Had at Pt Loma Cafe, accompanied Blacken Salmon very nicely. About as good as Syrah gets. A little tight on PNP but evolved nicely over the hour we spent at dinner. Hope the other two bottles I have are as good as this one was. No hurry if you have some but I don't think it'll get any better from here on. What a treat this was, best bottle of wine i've had in several months. Yummy!!!

PNP. cork wet 1/4th way up. color opaque garnet. nose w meaty fruit and some VA. Swishing has good acid and tannin. sipping shows soft fruit but there is a hint of VA on palate too. nice find at LA wine shop

PnP. Violet red. Since my last time with this in early '06 this has unwound quite a bit and has put some flesh on the palate. The nose has a slight game/earth character that matches well with the red/dark fruits and spice and is really intriguing. The fruit is medium intensity and quite berry-like. The acidity is there from entry and develops into an almost tart sense after midpalate which is completely offset by food. Tannins are resolving and getting soft, but still are in force. Could go a few more years, but not sure that it will improve.

Heavy VA and oxidized to boot. Down the drain it went.
