Smoky dusty cherry and licorice on the nose. Tart red fruit on the palate and some firm tannins. Unfortunately, the is a slight medicinal cranberry element on the finish that is distracting and makes me not want to return to the glass.

This purple dolcetto was grapey, juicy and tannic on opening but a bit mute aromatically. Eventually opened up showing cool, ripe fruit and nice licorice on the nose. Tannins softened on day two, but it held together nicely. This is a definite buy at under $15. Very nice.
