Light strawberry and camphor on the nose. On the palate, cherry and red berry with notes of clove and iodine on the medium finish, with good acidity and no noticeable tannins. This is ready to drink, and although it may hold a little longer it probably won't improve. Good value at about $30.

Gail and I served this with chicken (her) and meat loaf (me) to nice effect. Cloudy red color, ok nose of earthy barnyard, not too odoriferous, more subtle. Basic S Rhone with 50% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and 25% Mourvèdre (according to Jancis). First taste after opening yielded a rich cherry syrup/juice taste, then a short trajectory to a short tannin finish. The tannins receded somewhat after about an hour, as did the cherry bomb. Nice utilitarian blend to pair with chicken and light meat. Overall, it's a pass at this price, however. (Special direct buy from a Wash DC store: Calvert Woodley.)

Inherited from Dad. Drinking nicely. Perhaps missing a little fruit, but nicely integrated & still with a peppery Gigondas note.

Red fruit, herbs, and minerals on the nose. Relatively well balanced, with a short to medium finish. Decent if basic southern rhone..

Good wine for the price. A little weak on taste.
