Best bottle of the lot to date. Reflections of the other bottles, however there was more balance and definition here. Less cloying than the last bottle and the acid was a perfect counterpoint to the range of sweet notes.

Aromas of candied fruits. Fruity, sweet and concentrated on the palate. Typically for a Coteaux du Layon it is bit raw, wild and coarse compared with a Sauternes. Impressive and good, anyway.

Light golden. Gently honeyed apricot fruit. Again, quite elegant but mouth coating, not overly sweet. The acidity makes it a refreshing rather than a ponderous drink. Lovely and still going strong. The 1989 and 1990 Loire late harvest wines seem almost immortal.

A Tasting of Chambolle-Musigny Village Wines from the 2005 Vintage (San Francisco): Golden. Honeyed. Luscious tropical fruit, yellow pear, and etching acidity. What's not to like? In great shape at 30+ years of age.
