Decanted 2 hours and consumed over 8 hour evening. I agree with CT, this is very smooth juice. More of a full-bodied style with rich fruit foundation and perfect acidic balance. This was enjoyed on its own tonight and was fantastic, but also paired very well with Spanish tapas & paella when I originally had a couple of months ago. Seemed to peek and have the best nose-concentration during the 2 to 4 hour window; showing some interesting vanilla, then coconut elements. Complexity and intensity began to fall off at hour 4 and never really came back to that earlier 2-hour window of glory. Drinking very well now, but this has the stuffing to go another 10 years.

This is a bloody gorgeous wine I bought a few years back in Madrid. It’s in a righteous state at the moment. Fragrant and slightly floral. In the mouth, it’s heavy on cherry and transitions beautifully to an exceedingly long finish. There’s also menthol in there, some meat and metallic tones. The tannins are fine and settled down, framing balance and elegance. Miles of cherries on finish. Refined and emphatically delicate, this Rioja is just damned smooth.

Deep, husky Rioja. A profile I'd expect of a Ribera del Duero. Fruit, earth, leather, some funk. Very well made and complex. Purchased in Madrid, glad I did.

Surprisingly nice for a 2001. Fruity, peppery rounded flavor. This wine did very well for being forgotten in my cellar for quite some time.

RUSSK got better after a 6 hour decant. I would do that next time. might buy more at 14 dollars.
