There was a hint of a burnt quality to the fruit, not in a bad way, and at first I was thinking it could be a Brulees, but it was just so much better than any Brulees I've ever had I knew it wasn't. Then we tossed around the idea of maybe a top Cros Parantoux. It never quite fit the mold of either, it was tough to identify. Such a massively complex wine, unless you'd been lucky enough to drink a recent bottle I suspect few would identify it blind.
A reference standard Burgundy that was utterly thrilling, and quite the closer. This and the 93 Dujac Bonnes Mares side by side is one of the best side by side Burgundy pairings I've ever had, Dujac was in top form creating serious magic in this era.

Yep. Why have the 100 point system if wines like this don’t actually score 100…and it was the consensus opinion around a table of very experienced burg drinkers this was that special. We would spend minutes throwing superlatives around then I’d go back and nose the glass, or take a sip, and it would live up to everything we just said and spark more conversation. It delivered on every level: fruit, dimension, structure, length, nose. It sits at the perfect intersection of sweet and savory and is a magical experience you don’t forget…and to concur with a TN below, it’s not the first time this wine has shown like this

Enjoyable but clearly not what this wine is capable of. No flaws and hard to pinpoint exactly what the issue is but just not at the level of several past bottles.

Dare I say this is a 100 point wine?! CellarTracker says this is a $6000+ btl at auction. I opened this for NYE with my family and I would actually agree that this is the best burgundy I have drunk in a long time. This is my second bottle with similar feeling that this is amazing juice. The nose is ridiculously delicious with candied cherry along with notes of orange and lemon. The wine has some initial fruit of velvety cherry followed by acidity and a super long savory finish that goes on and on and on. Consensus is that at $6000/btl it’s a little ridiculous, but if price is no option, this is an amazing bottle of wine that probably continues to stay great for another 10 years.

(Dujac Clos de la Roche) This was ok but performed well under the expectations I had for this wine. The nose right out of the gates was intoxicating but also had somewhat of a oaky/tutti-frutti thing going on. Eventually it had a hint of confection which I liked. The palate never came around. It was angular and acidic only showing a hint of fruit. All the parts were there but it was obviously closed. I have a bit left for tonight of this and the Roumier and will post if they have improved dramatically. I hope they will.

Burgundy For Lunch Bunch Holiday Event 2023 (Phoenix, AZ USA): The perfume here was mindboggling, the kind of wine that is hypnotic and thrilling and makes you willing to take out a mortgage to get more.

Darker complexion to this bottle with a mix of savory and sweet spices. Not a perfect bottle, but very good
