  • This was just so nice. Better than the last bottle which seemed to be mature. This had some life left. Dark opaque red/black color. Black currant and some sweet fruit, spice. Good balance and viscosity. Long finish.

  • This wine is drinking beautifully now!
I opened this bottle and it was consumed over 3 hours. It was already quite open after 30 minutes and stayed quite constant over the 3 hours.

Ruby color with no signs of ambering yet. Full aromas of Cherry, blackurrant evolving with some leather, pepper and hints of sage. Following through full bodied with concentrated fruit, chewy-smooth mouth coating tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is very long and keeps on lingering. This wine is well balanced and drinking great right now. Complexity has developed quite a bit and I think there is still a lot of structure and some development potential left. Drink now - 2020.

Reminds me of the '04 Flaccianello.

  • On the nose: pepper, currant, and leather. On the Palate: Luscious mouth feel, perfect balance of tannins, acids, and fruit. Full bodied with a beautiful finish of cherry vanilla, blackberries, and sweet leather. This juice is way better than I expected. Great example of a Tuscan Sangiovese drinking at its peak...what a pleasure.

  • More mature since last bottle a year ago. Initial fruit is gone. Still very nice.

  • Another night of Italian wines with friends (Downtown Cleveland): Funny, this seemed more like Brunello than the actual BdM wines in the flight. It is 100% Sangiovese. Ruby/purple in color. The nose has cherries, truffles, dust and slight floral notes. Medium bodied. Nice acidity. On the palate, this has some complexity. I don't know how much better it gets as it seems mature. Tannins are all integrated. Nice cherry fruit left with a bit of forest floor and dried tea. Very food friendly.
