A youthful-looking, semi-opaque, dark magenta in color - lightening slightly right at the edge. Shows a pretty Tuscan nose of crushed dark berries, flowers, earth and spice. Full-bodied, rich and very silky in texture. There's excellent depth and intensity to its delicious plum and raspberry fruit on the mid-palate. Very nicely balanced, with a mild-to-moderate acidity, velvety tannins and just a touch of oak and sweet spice on the long, fruit-filled finish. A rich, polished and delicious Torrione. 50+5+12+16+8=91
This was just so nice. Better than the last bottle which seemed to be mature. This had some life left. Dark opaque red/black color. Black currant and some sweet fruit, spice. Good balance and viscosity. Long finish.
This wine is drinking beautifully now! I opened this bottle and it was consumed over 3 hours. It was already quite open after 30 minutes and stayed quite constant over the 3 hours.
Ruby color with no signs of ambering yet. Full aromas of Cherry, blackurrant evolving with some leather, pepper and hints of sage. Following through full bodied with concentrated fruit, chewy-smooth mouth coating tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is very long and keeps on lingering. This wine is well balanced and drinking great right now. Complexity has developed quite a bit and I think there is still a lot of structure and some development potential left. Drink now - 2020.
On the nose: pepper, currant, and leather. On the Palate: Luscious mouth feel, perfect balance of tannins, acids, and fruit. Full bodied with a beautiful finish of cherry vanilla, blackberries, and sweet leather. This juice is way better than I expected. Great example of a Tuscan Sangiovese drinking at its peak...what a pleasure.
