Not blind. After my last 05, I concluded that Abeja was among the WA cabs that don't develop in maturity, they just fade. This 04 proves me wrong: sweet dark fruit, leather and cigar box spice, this was excellent. From passive storage--those of you with pristeenly stored bottles should look to '23 and beyond for future joy.

This was not an ideal setting for a supremely analytical tasting. Dinner out with a bunch of people. You know, restaurant glassware that was good but not great. However, that being said, the waiter pulled the cork (after a warning from me that this was an older wine) and it was pristine! As if this were a current release wine. Other than that, good stuff, what you'd expect from a WA cab at that age - fresher perhaps - good cherry fruit, nice finish. No complaints (and I was with a group that would have let me know if they didn't like it).

Blind. Minty, red fruited, layered, relaxed tannins. Extremely attractive. Did not even recognize it from the bottle a night or two earlier.

This bottle was very enjoyable with a good balance of mature fruit and structure.

Right in the middle on this one. Fine wine, but not spectacular.
