Upon opening there was a clear aroma of oxidization but it was not so overwhelming as to deem the wine spoiled. There was still plenty of acidity, but the mid-palate was fairly flat with little fruit in evidence - instead the primary flavors were nuts and straw. But there was a hint of acidity on the finish, which opened up quite a bit with time in the glass and gave way to light citrus flavors and aromas. Together with the secondary flavors, the wine balanced out nicely. But drink this yesterday, in any case, its clearly going downhill.
Medium yellow. Smoky on the nose. Wonderfully oily in texture. Intense and concentrated taste on an egg-like note. There’s a lot of structure and a great long aftertaste. I had expected a bit more from this wine.
