PopnPour, tasted over 4 hrs -translucent light gold -slightly muted, no oxidative notes, a little bit of lemon and sea breeze in the background -med+ acidity, lighter weight with powerful sappy core that carries through to the finish, citrus fruit remnants are starting to pick up mature elements -regal and elegant, drinking very well now in early maturity
Full yellow. Lime and white flowers. Beautifully silky feel upon entry, incredible interplay of ripe green citrus, a bit of pear, and mouth scrunching acidity. Chalk and salinity to finish. This struck me as far more structured and classic than when I last had this in 2013. No ripe, friendly Vaillons this. Terrific Premier Cru that is in its drinking window but should hold for another 5 years.
Light color. Ripe lemon drop, developing white flowers with air. That inimitable Raveneau lushness and a thin streak of salinity. Hard to quibble about this since it is drinking well now and has great mouth feel, but just not enough Chablis uniqueness or zippy acidity to be exciting. Far from dull, though-this is not a 2003.
After a night in the refrigerator, the remaining glass or two actually showed more acidity and focus while retaining its great fruit and freshness.
