Dark inky purple-colored, full bodied, dense rich but balanced and integrated dark berry fruits, a layer of smoke and leather settling in perhaps due to age at 25 years, earth, spice, hints of cassis with smooth polished tannins on the long finish. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2022/07/boys-night-out-cellar-tours-wine-tasting.html https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2022/07/boys-night-out-cellar-tour-and-tasting.html

My WOTN but perhaps not fair because this is the one we brought and it’s also the oldest by 10 years so for me more in the right drinking window. The cork didn’t really cooperate, but leveraged a neat pouring mechanism that automatically filtered. This wine was just nice. Everything in balance. It’s still got the darker Howell fruits and a bit of spice and a bit of leather. Very enjoyable. I had hoped/thought we had more of these but it seems not which is too bad. Always love the old Lokoyas.

Lovely 20 year old cab. In perfect condition, not sure this would improve with extra cellaring. It has a perfect balance of dried fruits and earthy , chocolaty , coffee aromas. Very complex, very long and very balanced. Aromas and flavors are very pronounced. Pure hedonistic pleasure. It could hold for quite a while but why ? Life is too short, enjoy now.

Superb. Fruit still good. Complex nose and flavors. A fine effort prior to Chris Carpenter taking over (later delivered 100 points with sister wine, Cardinale).
