Tasted in a vertical of this wine (2001, 2004, 2005). This wine was the favorite on day 1, and slid to 2nd place on day 2 (behind the 2005). It showed honeyed lemon extract, with Alsatian spice notes, med+ acidity, and a long, fairly crisp finish. The richness of the fruit was perfectly balanced by the laser-like acidity on day 1, but it faded just a tad on the 2nd day. Drink now through 2020+. Delicious
Very nice medium deep golden colour, clear and shiny. Nose of mature riesling, some petrol. lime, crushed rocks and rainy tarmac on the nose. Very nice mouthfeel with medium body, great acidity and long finish. Very easy to drink. Great with food, had it with Veloute Dubarry.

(Trimbach Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Emile) Sourced from grands crus Geisberg and Osterberg, says Jean Trimbach, the vines having an average age of 50 years, with the oldest up to 70. A bright and fresh nose here, limes and minerals in abundance, with a well-balanced and elegant substance. A grainy depth, supple and with plenty of appeal for the future. Excellent potential here.
