Straw. Disgorged in 12/22 with the 50% 2018. Nice, not super intense, but interesting nose with flowery notes, apricots, brioche, minerals. On the palate not a powerhouse, but really delicate with the above mentioned notes and also some red fruits. Gentle and delicate. This is not meant for extended cellaring of course. But I guess that this with this disgorgement date should hold through 2024 if stored at 10°-12°C. 5/13/17/8.

Base 2018 with perpetual reserve. Disgorged 2022. Pale straw. Cut ripe apple on the nose. Moderate-coarse mousse. In the mouth, green and red apple again, and brioche. Dry, relatively low acidity. A touch fleshy. Mild-moderate salt in the mid which lingers nicely into the finish. A bit subdued but easy drinking.

(NV René Geoffroy "Expression" Brut) ($56.00) This used to be a party-girl kind of Champagne, easy to have fun with, and so you were surprised to learn she was a straight-A student. Following the cheesy metaphor, now she’s in grad school and discovered that to maintain her grades she had to party a lot less. Basically, the wine has completed a transformation to something More Serious. Now 30% ’07 and 70% ’08, or rather, soon to be. What we’re currently selling is a 10/10 disgorgement that’s still cheerful and swank. This new guy is awaiting a final decision as to its dosage. It had three grams less than the current wine. It “worked” in its drier form, but in a significantly different way; still doughy and shiitake-ish but markedly more….call it masculine.

Virkelig god, ikke så syreholdig, men det er nok et produkt af druesammensætningen. Den ryger på min wishlist
