Last of six bottles. This required some air before it showed well. On first opening, this came across as just old, which was not the case for prior bottles. But with air, it gained weight, fruit and freshness which made it enjoyable to drink. Still a nice bottle of wine, but based on this bottle, probably not going to improve much from here.
Picked up for $15 on closeout. Cherries, raspberries, sous bois. Palate shows lots of acid, with great weight for a Bourgogne rouge. Finish is a bit simple. My guess is this will evolve nicely over the next several years, but it's drinking pretty well right now. All in all, I'd say this is an excellent deal at $15.
