This bottle had a lower neck and the cork was in good shape, coming out with no trouble. Right upon pouring, the wine gave off a strong aroma of cassis along with leather, dust, and plums. After being open for about 45 minutes, I also noticed eucalyptus. The wine itself is garnet in color with slight to moderate bricking. This wine is quite complex on the palate and changes over time. I picked up cassis, dark fruits (plums and maybe prunes) leather, tobacco leaf, dusty earth, and tar. It is well balanced with plenty of acid and an extremely long finish.

What a surprise after the last bottle So it's true, BV stands for bottle variation, unlike the other, this bottle was full of nice plummy fruit with a beautiful nose. Very nice a silky in mouth, at peak.

Red brick brown, Needs a long decant, fruit is still there even if it's past it's prime. Too much rust, and Rutherford dust..
