  • Dark and cool berry aromas with forest floor and spices. Extremely fruity and compact, but lacks complexity (and charme). Has definitely potential, though.

  • Decanted for an hour, which was not enough, but the wine did open in the glass.
Complex, dark fruit and forest. Fine tannin perfectly integrated. Good acidity.

  • Second wine of the evening with Ken and Jill, they brought some amazing homemade cheeses that were needing a good pairing...last bottle was is 2015, time to check in on this. this one bridged us into dinner. Splash decant, drank over an hour.

Medium ruby/garnet some signs of age. Nose showed red fruit, strawberry, damp earth, evolving later to plum and spice. Sappy and viscous palate - by Burg standards - showing plum, currant, floral/rose notes. Picking up some minerality through the mid/back palate. Full body, medium/long finish.

In a good spot, the mistake was not giving this a couple hours in a decanter. It loosened up considerably in the glass, much more expressive an hour+ in. Sappy texture may not be for all Burgundy drinkers...great fruit, should have a good arc ahead of it

  • My second of 4 bottles, and this one was great. This wine is what I expect from
An aged burgundy- subtle flavors leading me to the
next glass.. this is a great example of why we drink Burg. After consuming the entire thing I could have opened a second bottle and kept going.. perfect balance, with notes of earth and fruit.. but more of a tease of flavor than a strong presence. I prefer the absence of strong flavors, which not everyone does. This hits the mark. If you are coming off a Cali cab, trying to find the balance with this will be tough. This wine expects that you are aware - it doesn’t feel the need to speak for u.

  • Not flawed like the last bottle, but unremarkable.
