Deep brown. A friend noted it was a bit too dark for its age but it was just beautiful to me. Honey, caramel fill the nose and I thought of persimmons. In this form, it was full bodied and complex, layers of different sweet flavors. A long finish that you taste for a long time after swallowing. Such a treat and a real bargain.

This wine: Very concentrated. For my taste it is a little too tertiary. I like it younger. A matter of taste. I have tasted a lot better Sauternes. 1988 is better. I rated that 89

Another glorious bottle... you know then smells, toffee, caramel, honey, molasses, grilled pineapple. All held together by terrific acids. Despite a luxurious nose, this is bright and almost lean by dessert wine standards. Just wonderful.

Beautifully mature now with almost a reddish color. Elegant and lifted with only some sweetness at this point and plenty of succulent acidity to accompany the flavors of apricot and persimmon. The finish is long and smooth with complex mineral notes. Yum. At MGE dinner.
