Had with smoked salmon in pasta with cheese. Volatile, with grassiness and gooseberry. Some color drift towards honey, but not much. Obviously, very very long in the tooth. On the other hand, it is remarkable how Chalk Hill sauvignon blancs hold up (or at least used to). Fascinating to drink and reflect on the evolution of this wine.

This was my favorite Sau Blanc in the summer of 09. Stands up and expresses Sau Blanc without giving that watered down Chard taste. Wonderful flowery fragnant nose, full bodied w honey, lemon and a clean finish.

This was tropical for Sauv Blanc with lots of oak - creaminess on the palate, but not in a good way. There was a touch of grapefruit and grass on the nose, but the palate was fairly void of fruit with creamy oak playing the primary role. The finish is short and somewhat astringent. It is drinkable, but not my cup of sauv blanc.

Light grass and some soft fruit aromas. Tropical fruits and grass dominate the palate.
