I've heard of Carmenere as the infamous lost grape of Bourdeaux. I bought it for precisely this reason. It was an interesting experiment, but I wasn't blown away by the execution of this wine. Tannins with a bit of acid on the tongue. Alcohol on the nose. Not a lot here.
